Villvin Gulbrandsrød is an artist based in her home town, Oslo, Norway. She is a painter and filmmaker with an affinity for bright colours and big feelings.

She first exhibited paintings and drawings solo in 2014, and has since exhibited in Volda, Durham, Oslo and Paris.

Inspired by the Baroque period, she has worked under gaffers and DOPs in film & TV to learn lighting techniques. She is also influenced by both contemporary portrait and concept artists. Her intense colours come from an internal need for stimulation, and reflect 2000s teen fantasy series, both animated and live action.

Gulbrandsrød has a BA in Animation from Volda UC.
